Groups

Groups are central to the u3a concept, they enable people to come together to share interests. They are self-run by the Group members who decide what they are going to do and how they are going to operate.

Welling u3a already has approximately 30 groups with several others in the pipeline. Some groups meet in members’ homes, while other groups meet elsewhere such as pubs, halls and cafes. In that case they may make an additional charge to cover the costs of refreshments or hall hire. If the group leader supplies resources (as in Art) there will also be a charge to cover costs.

Some Groups may be limited in size if held in peoples' homes. For further information please contact the Group Co-ordinator

If a Group is full and there is no waiting list, why don’t you start one! For help and information, just contact the Group Co-ordinator. If you find that no Group caters for your interest, the Group Coordinator is always happy to receive new ideas or to help you set up a new Interest/Study group.
