Welcome
Welcome to the Welling u3a website. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month at St Michael's Church Hall, Upper Wickham Lane, Welling, Kent, DA16 3AP. There is a car park at the back of the hall which will hold approximately 20 cars. Disabled access is available.
The meetings start at 2.00pm and will last approximately 1 hour 30 mins. Most people arrive about 1.45pm. Most months we have a speaker offering a wide range of topics to suit all interests. Refreshments are available free of charge.
Summary of Activities
Welling u3a had its' first meeting in June 2013. It is a financially self-supporting organisation. We have approximately 30 learning groups/activities underway and we welcome suggestions for new groups. These include history, creative writing, reading, art, flower arranging, discussions, games and walking. There are also a variety of social groups, including several lunch groups and opportunities to meet for refreshments. Most months we offer a variety of trips and visits to places of interest.
All groups are organised by the members for the members.
Membership
We have approximately 170 members currently and if you would like to join us then please contact our Membership Secretary for more information. Visitors may try out one of our meetings at a cost of £2, which is deducted from the annual fee should you choose to join us!
Our membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March. It is currently £20 for individual members with a reduction for couples and fully paid-up members of other u3as. The membership fee for new members joining throughout the year will be as follows:-
